- We also used the Spectrum Math workbook, but it is more for supplementation.
Spelling: Spelling Vocabulary & Poetry 5 was the only printed items that I purchased at the beginning of the year. I love the format of this and it's easy to go through each lesson. The one drawback is that there are three different books to purchase: student work-text, test booklet, and the test answer key. Sometimes, if you're up for the hunt, you can find like-new items on eBay at a used price tag. But most of the time, only the teacher keys and answer keys are to be found. Majority of the time, I had to purchase the student books from the publisher. https://www.abeka.com
History: This is a free website that I would link in our Google classroom page. It has easy to understand explanations for a middle schooler; with links, and related videos also age-appropriate. https://www.ducksters.com/history/
Science: Since my kiddo loved science, I used a lot of the Crash Course videos, depending on the topic. He is advanced for his age and has such a love for science that he really enjoyed and got a lot out of these videos. However, these are geared toward high school and college age students, so be weary and screen the videos for any content that may be inappropriate for your child(ren). With that being said, Crash Course also has Crash Course Kids channel as well available on YouTube. I have linked both. If you are not familiar with Crash Course, it is an amazing resource for all ages. I truly enjoyed watching them myself, and they helped me when I took my own economics courses a couple of years ago. https://www.youtube.com/@crashcourse/videos & https://www.youtube.com/@crashcoursekids
